The 11th Annual Private Equity Latin America Forum is Latin America's largest private markets investment conference.
The forum brings together 700+ investors, funds, and advisers for a two day meeting to discuss sectors, due diligence, and private equity investment opportunities in Latin America and around the world.
The investor focused event provides a due diligence forum for international and South American pension funds, foundations, endowments, fund of funds, family offices, wealth managers, consultants, and sovereign wealth funds interested in direct research on private investment opportunities.
Session topics cover the entire spectrum of private equity investments, from sector specific sessions on venture capital investments in Brazil and LatAm to discussions on global buyout opportunities, and roundtables of the biggest global LatAm institutional investors discussing their specific investment appetites.

Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas, Minister of Infrastructure, Federative Republic of Brazil Mr. Gomes de Freitas is the Brazilian minister of infrastructure. He was previously the coordination secretary at the Investment Partnerships Program (PPI), legislative adviser at the Chamber of Deputies, deputy director and executive director at National Department of Transportation Infrastructure (DNIT), general auditing coordinator in Transportation, among many other titles. Gomes de Freitas has a master’s in transportation engineering, a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, a bachelor’s degree in military sciences and a specialization in project management and military sciences. |
Drew Guff, Managing Director & Founding Partner, Siguler Guff & Company Mr. Guff is responsible for directing the Firm's private equity investment strategy. As Chair of Siguler Guff’s Executive Committee, he leads strategic decision-making related to existing funds, new product initiatives, the Firm’s management and significant internal matters. Mr. Guff has over 35 years of private equity experience. In addition to his oversight of the Firm, he leads Siguler Guff’s emerging markets investment strategy and the direct investment activities of Russia Partners, an affiliate of Siguler Guff that manages more than $1 billion of private equity investments. Prior to founding Siguler Guff, Mr. Guff worked in PaineWebber’s M&A and Merchant Banking Groups from 1985 to 1995, including four years as assistant to the President of PaineWebber. Mr. Guff holds an A.B. in Economics from Harvard College. |
Patrice Etlin, Managing Partner, Advent International Mr. Etlin joined Advent International in 1997 and started the firm’s investment activities in Brazil. As one of Advent’s global Managing Partners and member of the Executive Committee, he helps oversee the firm’s strategic direction and investment activities, with a particular focus on Latin America. Patrice has 23 years of private equity experience and has led, co-led or participated in over 30 investments in the region. Before joining Advent, he was a partner at International Venture Partners in São Paulo and previously, he was a general representative for Brazil at Matra Marconi Space. He received an undergraduate degree in electronic engineering from the University of São Paulo, a master’s in industrial engineering from École Centrale de Paris and an MBA from INSEAD. |
Elie Horn, Chairman, Cyrela Brazil Realty Mr. Horn is the founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors at Cyrela, the most prestigious residential real estate developer in Brazil. Founded in 1962, the company is the largest publicly traded developer of high-end residential buildings in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro operating in 17 states and 66 cities. Mr. Horn holds a Bachelor's Degree in Law from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. Since 2006, Mr. Horn has been on the list of Forbes billionaires and is also known to be the only Brazilian entrepreneur to join The Giving Pledge, a select philanthropic billionaire club founded by Microsoft founder Bill Gates and investor Warren Buffett. |
Henrique de Campos Meirelles, Minister of Finance (2016—2018), Brazil Ministry of Finance Mr. Meirelles was the longest-serving president of the Central Bank of Brazil between 2003 and 2011; a period of economic growth, job creation and inflation control. Mr. Meirelles pulled Brazil out of the deepest recession in its history with institutional advances made between 2016 and 2017 with the public spending limitations, new State-Owned Companies Law and labor reform. In the private sector, he worked for 28 years at the Bank of Boston and is the only Brazilian to hold the role of Global President. He was also Chairman of the investment bank Lazard Americas, Senior Advisor at KKR, and Chairman of Lloyds of London. In 2002, he was elected as the most voted congressman in the history of his home state of Goiás. In 2018, Meirelles ran for the Brazilian Presidency, receiving 1.3 million votes all over the country. He graduated from the University of São Paulo (USP), with a master’s degree in economics and master’s degree in administration from the UFRJ. |
Alexandre Barreto de Souza, President, CADE Mr. Barreto has a 26-year career in the public service. He worked in public Brazilian bodies such as the National Treasury, Federal Revenue Secretariat, Senate and Federal Court of Accounts. Since 2017, he has been the president of the Brazilian Antitrust Authority. His administration at CADE has prioritized the rationalization of procedures and fraud prevention in public administration. Mr. Barreto has a bachelor's degree in management and also a master's degree in public administration, both from the University of Brasilia (UnB). Currently, he is a Ph.D. student in Political Science at the University of Lisbon. |
